As long as you use computer, it is unavoidable for you to encounter millions of computer problems. And the slow computer speed should be topped on the list. Well, do not worry about it. In this article, I will tell you how to speed up PC.
Any computer veteran may have encountered such problems that after formatting and reinstall the computer, it works very well at the beginning, but you may find it is running slower and slower day by day. It is no doubt that it may result from the increasing software in the system and larger burden. However, the new adding software is not the only reason for slow performance. Excessive disk fragments and useless registry files left by removing software can result in decreasing your PC performance. And, as long as you maintain the computer system properly, it can keep you PC running in the best state.
It is indispensable to defragment the disk. Since you use hard disk for a long time, the available physical space is becoming more and more discontinuously. When installing applications or reserving large size files, the data are divided into many fragments and restored in the discrete areas in the hard disk. The more fragments are in it, the more messy the files are scattered. So, when your want to run certain program or open files, you may find the computer is too slow to bear. Well, that is why you should defragment the disk regularly, in other word, rearrange the file fragments on the disk orderly and continuously. By doing this, every time you run large applications, open pictures or files, it is bound to be faster than before. You can apply the “Disk Defragment” of Windows to help you. It is put in the “Start”—“Programs”—“Accessories”—“System Tools”. It works well though rather slow.
In this regard, I recommend you to use a good defrag which is not only fast but also easy to operate. In order to speed up PC, it is the tool you cannot afford to miss.

Have you ever got head ache that your computer is running slower and slower? Even there is no any virus in your computer, it is unavoidable that the computer speed becomes slower, because there are many other factors that influence the computer speed.
In this article, you can learn how to free up disk by deleting certain files in order to speed up your computer.
First of all, clear up system restore point regularly. Restore point is a useful way to get your computer back to the normal state. Open the disk defragment to choose “Other options”—“Clear System Restored Point” and then click “OK”. It is
Secondly, clear up the system temporary file. You can clear up system temporary files. The temporary files are put in two positions generally. One is under the Temp folder of Windows installing directory and another is under the folder of \Documents and Settings\Username \Local Settings\Temp. You can remove both of them.
Third, clear away the temporary files of Internet: you should remove a mess of Internet temporary files to free up disk space greatly. You can open IE browser, in the “Tools” menu, click “Internet options”. In the “General” tab, click “Delete Files” in the “Temporary Internet files” column and tick “Delete all offline content” in the popping dialog box and then click “OK”.
And, compress NTFS drive, folder or file. If your hard disk uses NTFS files system and disk space is insufficient, you can try to start the compressing function of NTFS. Right-click the drive needed to compress, click “Properties”—“General”—“Compress drive to save disk space” and click “OK”, in the “Confirm Attribute Changes” tab, you can choose the ones you want to compress. By doing this, you can save about twenty percent of disk space. It is better to compress the C disk under the “Safe Mode” with better result.
After reading this article, you are bound to take action to free up disk now. And, you also can find more ways in saving disk space with few clicks.

It is for sure that every computer user has encountered problems when defragmenting disks. Some are quite easy to solve while some are really headaches. Do not worry that, you are supposed to learn some ways to solve defragmenting problems
Although such problem seldom happened, if it does, it is really disturbing. When defragmenting, it appears formats repeatedly in the process and it makes impossible to carry on the defragmentation. How to solve it?
In the first place, you have to detect whether there is anything problems. Right-click the drive you want to check, in the popping up menu, click “Properties” to choose “Tools” tab, then click “Check now” and tick “Automatically fix file system errors”, the system will restart in the DOS pattern and restore by itself. And then you can choose to scan the disk. Then, it is time for you to defragment the disk.
You had better to scan the disk, if it still jump to other disks. You can press F8 to enter into safe mode to defragment it. When starting the computer, you press F8 until it enters into the “Safe Mode”. It is much safer and easier to operate here because the system does not have to load too many applications in the process.
Since it really needs certain amount of space to carry on the defragmentation, it is likely that your C disk is short of space. And, you should keep certain spaces for defragmentation. It is better to remain fifteen percent of space at least at least.
By doing this, you can find it is easy to solve this defragmenting problem. Besides, if there is any other problem, you can click here to find more methods. better to remain fifteen percent of space at least at least.

Nowadays, it is a must for user to learn something about computer, because you can solve problems easily at any time. And, in this article, you can learn something about the temporary files which are helpful for speeding up computer.
When using Windows operating system, it is likely to find some files with extension name of TMP in the C disk, even a TMP catalog in the Windows catalog. Some novice may wonder what these files are since they never set up them before.
As a matter of fact, they are the temporary files created by Windows. And, TMP is the abbreviation for temporary files. When using Word editing document, you can also find a bunch of TMP files in the Word installing catalog. These are temporary files brought by Word. And, it is impossible to delete them if you have closed down Word and the system reminds you repeatedly the read-write protection. What can you do?
Therefore, as you want to remove the temporary files, you should close down all the current used programs and then delete them in case that they stack day by day to take up the disk space. What is worse, they are so messy that cost the disk to scan them uselessly and lead to confusion in allotting files. But, not all the TMP files are the same.
Well, when should you delete TEMP files? There is no any running program in the background. If your computer is troubled with the same problem and the hardware is OK, you should delete the files in the TEMP directory. And, if it shows error when scanning the disk and cannot correct itself, you are supposed to delete the temporary files and scan again. Be careful, some TEMP files are invisible in the Word catalog; therefore, you really need some other professional tools to get rid of them.
By learning this article, you may have find that it is rather tedious to get rid of the temporary files. But, in order to speed up your computer, you have to delete them perfectly. I recommend you to use some tools to share your burden.

Nowadays, in order to speed up computer, many users may apply various ways to solve it. In fact, since a large number of reasons can account for the slow speed of computer, it is good to handle them respectively with specific methods.
Here I would like to tell you some methods involving on defragmenting to speed up computer.
In the first place, let us learn how many files are related to defragmentation. Continuous files are the ones that every part is restored in the same area equally in the disk. Fragmented file means that a file is scattered and put on the different places in the disk. Continuous files are the ones that every part is restored in the same area equally in the disk. Unmovable file means that defrag is unable to move them. They are the system running files. When defragmenting, it is impossible to move them. Such as page file of virtual memory, pagefil.sys.
You can see what you really need to remove is the fragmented files. You can delete them manually by clicking “Start”—“Programs”—“Accessories”—“System Tools”—“Disk Defragmenter”. As for the unmovable files, you should not remove some of them, because if you do that, the system is vulnerable to go crashed. And, If it is not so easy to clear up files of some relatively large software and they can bring about more new fragments after defragmentation, it is better for you to move them to other disk first to defragment the current one and then move them back again after finishing it.
Besides, you can clear up the pre-reading files. Though the pre-reading settings of Windows XP can speed up system, after using for a long time, there is piling a large amount of files in the pre-reading folder. It takes longer time of system to search them one by one. Much worse, some applications may create death link files that aggravate the burden of system searching. Therefore, it is necessary for you to delete those files periodically. And, such files are put under the folder of Prefetch in the Windows XP system ones. You can feel free to delete all the files under this folder.
All in all, you can delete some useless files to speed up computer. Besides, you can also turn to use a helpful tool to help you defragment completely.

It is unavoidable for any user to defragment disk as long as he wants to improve his computer performance. But, during the defragmentation, a mess of unexpected problems hinder to complete the task perfectly.
Have you encountered that you cannot continue to defragment disk when it is carrying on certain progress? If so, you cannot afford to miss this article, because it will tell you how to solve this problem completely.
When defragmentation is conducting from 1% to 10%, it is the stage of detecting drive programs and reading its information actually. After ten percent of defragmentation, it just begins to defragment from here. If the system is plunged into vicious loop, it is likely because of remaining programs piling in the memory. For example, the anti-virus software or screensaver program disturbs the normal disk scanning and holds back the program to run on the rails which drags the system into vicious loop. And, how to defragment smoothly?
First of all, it is a must to close down all the remaining programs before defragmenting disk. Such programs make system read and write disk repeatedly so that hinder the process of defragmentation.
Second, if defragmenting still can not work after shutting down programs, you should try to detect disk thoroughly by using the order of “SCANDISK” including test surface to find whether there is any problem of disk itself.
Then, if users have not cleared up the fragments in the disks for a long time, it really takes a lot of time to continue the defragmenting process from ten percent to eleven percent. You can click to display the information to open system operation process to see whether the operation falls into vicious loop.
By following the above steps, you can get rid of such head ached problems. And, if you have any other problem, you can click here to find more information about defragmentation.

It is known to all that defragmentation can speed up the computer. And, everyone absolutely has defragmented or tried to do it. Some may have encountered such problems that it is impossible to continue to defragment the disk, especially C disk. Well, in this article, you will learn some specific methods to solve it.
The problem is why the C disk can not keep defragmenting?
In the Windows XP system, when conducting defragmentation, the system reminds you that the files of C:\Windows\prefetch\WMIPRVSE.EXE-28F301A9.PF are broken or damaged, so it cannot continue to scan the system.
In fact, C:\Windows\Prefetch\ is the pre-reading folder of Windows XP. The system restores frequent used data in this folder so as to facilitate the reading speed when it needs to read those data again. However, since you use the folder for a long time, the Prefetch folder becomes bigger and bigger, even some broken files are hidden here. So, if you do not take any action to get rid of these junks, it is vulnerable to appear the above problem. And the simple solution to this is to clear up the whole folders and then perform defragmentation.
And, when you find C disk has been overstaffed and computer is running slowly, it is time for you to clear up it immediately. Here are some tips I have been using as follows:
1. Clear up the temporary files in the C disk. Such as the system temporary files with the extension of “INTERNET”. They are nothing but useless which takes up the space largely.
2. Clean up the desktop and the files in “My Documentary” and remove the files with large size to other disks.
3. Form a good habit—do not install application in the C disk as much as possible. If you have installed in it, you had better reinstall them to other disks.
4. Use defragmentation to clean up fragments and clear registry.
Besides, if programs are uninstalled abnormally, such as deleting DEL files directly, you have to clean up the registry. On the other hand, you can delete the remaining uninstalling and used information, archived data and so on.
All in all, it is quite important for you to shape a good habit ofdefragmenting disks. But if the problems happen, besides solving them manually, you can also usesome helpful tools to share the burden.

It is universal knowledge that every computer needs to defragment if you want to keep its high performance. However, in the process of defragmentation, there appear many problems. So, in this article, I would like to share my understandings of defragmentation with you in hope that it can help you solve such problems.
Normally, the system can not defragment disks when starting computer. But, in fact, such function is prohibited by the computer. That is to say, you can enable the function manually.
When starting computer, if Windows XP can perform defragmentation to arrange the necessary files orderly, it is definitely that the starting speed can be improved greatly. Although such function is closed down in the default circumstance, you can activate it by following the steps:
Click “Start”—“Run”, type “regedit” to enter into “Registry Editor”, and click in order to find HKEY_LOCAL_MAHCINE\SOFTWARE\Dfrg\BootOptimizeFunetion. In the right blanket, double-click the value of Enable and change the default key value from “N” to “Y”. Then, your system can defragment even it is starting.
Some people may wonder that can the starting speed be improved if forbidding pre-reading function. The answer is “Yes”.
You can also change your registry. In the “Registry Editor”, open the catalog of “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters” in turns, find the subkeys of “EnablePrefeteher”, and add the value of “1” to it. By doing this, you can lessen the waiting time of pre-reading files. It is much easier to enter into loading menu because the schedule bar just needs to scroll a circle.
But, I think you should learn that although you have set the value of “EnablePrefetcher” to “1” to facilitate pre-reading files, the system still has to load a bunch of drive programs, start subsystems and related services. In other word, even you have seen the welcome screen, it does not mean the computer has completed starting process. Does it sound contrary? Well, since the system has to continue to initialize the loading of drive programs, the total time cost in starting the system does not change greatly.
Therefore, it is still hard to speed up start computer by changing certain key values. But, do not worry, you can turn to other useful tools instead of doing it manually.

It is known to all PC Users that it is necessary to defragment the computer regularly so as to greatly optimize computer performance. But if you have ever defragmented your computer with disk defragmenter before, you will find that it is a so time-consuming action. In this article, you will find some tips on how to get a faster defragmentation when noticing that your computer is running slow.
1) Close all running programs. It is needed for programs to repeatedly read the data from the hard drive when running, which will affect the defragment speed. In the case of system instability, it will sometimes crash the computer. So to get a faster defragmentation, you’d better close all running programs and it is more appreciated to boot the computer into windows safe mode before the defragmentation.
2)Modify the registry to automatically shut down the screen saver. If not, the defragmenter will start up again and again. Regarding that it will be very troublesome to manually turn it off every time, you can click Start –> Run -> enter Regedit to open registry editor -> locate KEY_CURRENT_USER/Software /Microsoft/windows/CurrentVersion/Applets ->find whether this is “Defrag” key under this path (if not, go to create one) -> create a new key called “Settings” within the “Defrag” key -> create another key named “DisableScreenSaver” within “Settings” -> change the default string value to “YES”. Hence, in the following defragmentation, the system will automatically turn off the screen saver.
3) Change the location of the temporary folder. IE will generate a large number of temporary files within the directory: Temporary Internet Files (normally in C:\windows\Temporary Internet Files). Every time when we surfing the internet, the hard disk will frequently read / write these files, resulting in lots of fragments and slow down computer. To avoid this , you can design the temporary directory to another partition:A) Create a new directory in other partition to store the temporary files. B) Click Start -> Control Panel -> double click Internet Options -> click Settings within Internet Temporary Files -> click “Remove folders” to the directory you just created.
4) Keep sufficient disk space. It will slow down the programs and the defragmentation when there is only a little space left down. So it is much better to retain sufficient disk space. Normally, it will be more than 15% available for relatively smaller hard disk partition, and 5% for bigger ones, and at lease 200MB for boot partition.
After the preparations above, you can go to defragment the computer in a much faster speed. But in my opinion, it will be better to depend on a professional defrag program to thoroughly defragment computer because of the lower efficiency of the window’s built-in defragmenter.
Key words:
faster defragmentation, defragment computer, optimize computer performance

Everyone knows that a simple disk defragmentation will speed up a slower computer. But there is no doubt that PC users will encounter kinds of defragment problems when running a disk defragmentation, for example, no response when clicking Analyze or Defragment button. If you do, please do not miss this article, which tells some must-known tips to make a disk defragmentation smoothly without problems.
1) Clean up disk before the defragmentation. Microsoft Windows provides users a Disk Cleanup (cleanmgr.exe) maintenance utility for the purpose of releasing available disk space on a computers’ hard drive by removing some files that are no longer used. It is necessary to first run it before the defragmentation. You can follow the steps below: open My Computer-> right click the disk you want to clean up to select Properties -> click Disk Cleanup within General -> select the files to be deleted within the popping- up Disk Cleanup wizard -> Press OK -> click Yes when it asks you “Are you sure you want to perforce these actions”. Hence, the system will automatically clear the selected files.
2) Check errors before the defragmentation. Error-checking will help check for various hard drive issues, including bad sectors, and then correct a wide range of hard disk error. Here is how to begin the error-checking: open My Computer -> right click the disk that you want to check for error and then select Properties -> Tools on the top -> press Check Now within Error –checking -> tick the two tabs “Automatically fix file system errors” and “scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors” -> Press Start to begin the checking.
3) Close all running programs, especially anti-virus programs which apply real-time feature for no matter which program, it will repeatedly read the data from the hard disk when running, resulting in a slower computer and slower defragment speed.
After that, you can go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools-> Disk Defragmenter to defragment the hard disk. By the way, please note that please do not do any read/write data action, in case of a computer crash. If you fail to smoothly defragment the hard disk even though with the preparation above, it is suggested to have a try in windows safe mode. If not, a professional defrag program will be a much better choice
